Crooked Creek (Browns Creek), a tributary of the Manning River in Taree on the Mid North Coast of NSW, received industrial, residential and street waste run-off and at certain access points along the creek, regular dumping of rubbish occurred. This community based project focused on restoring the creek as a viable fish habitat and recreational waterway through a coordinated clean up of Browns Creek, as part of Clean-Up Australia Day (4 March 2012), where a team of 25 individuals cleared an estimated 2.5 tonnes of rubbish from within the creek and long its banks. Completed in 2012.
