Modifying a barrier to fish passage- Locketts Crossing

Google Map

Locketts Crossing is located on the Upper Coolongolook River. It is a 40 m wide causeway that acted as tidal barrage, defined the tidal limit in the river and restricted migrating fish. In 2009 a partial-width rock-ramp fishway and a single box culvert was constructed at the causeway. This modification to Locketts Crossing has provided migrating fish access to over 63 kilometres of upstream habitat. Completed in 2009.
