Toogimbie Wetland is located 45 km west of Hay. The wetland is very important to the local indigenous communities and forms part of larger Indigenous Protected Area. The Nari Nari Tribal Council and community volunteers embarked on rehabilitating the wetlands and improving fish habitat. Key achievements include: managing weeds in 20 hectares of wetland habitat, planting 2,800 endemic plants, removing debris from over 1000 hectares of wetland and developing a water sharing plan for the wetland to promote a ecologically balanced environment. Completed in 2007.
